PYROCO2 stakeholder engagement workshops in Norway
As part of the PYROCO2 project, Ecoinnovazione is organizing two stakeholder engagement workshops in Norway, bringing together local actors to explore the social risks and opportunities linked to Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU).
Trondheim – 22 April (with SINTEF)
Porsgrunn – 23 April (with HIP & Telemark)
These workshops aim to foster dialogue between industry, researchers, and local stakeholders on how innovative CCU solutions – such as those developed within PYROCO2 – may impact communities, workers, and local value chains.
PYROCO2 explores a novel pathway to transform captured CO₂ into valuable products, including chemicals and fuels, through biological and catalytic processes. Beyond the technological dimension, understanding the social implications of these solutions is essential to ensure their responsible and inclusive development.
Through interactive sessions, participants will:
- Identify potential social benefits and concerns related to CCU deployment
- Reflect on implications for jobs, skills, and local economies
- Discuss environmental performance, safety, and trust
- Explore how benefits and potential burdens can be shared fairly across communities
The workshops will include short project introductions, small-group discussions, and prioritisation exercises to better understand stakeholder perspectives and inform future developments.
Stakeholder input is key to identifying both social risks and opportunities, supporting more inclusive, acceptable, and context-sensitive CCU solutions.
Stay tuned!
